Due to the unreasonable steps backwards that our leader, Mr Harper, has taken in regards to Bill C-10 (mandatory minimums for cannabis offenses) and the Conservative Party's barbarian approach to the prohibition of cannabis, I'm bringing back "The Truth Is...." Propaganda Busting Ads from issues of Cannabis Health Journal. They have been reformatted as high resolution printable letter size posters with a whole new line of attack against the advance of prohibition. Below are the first to be released. Come back again soon for more....
A quote from a friend: When science and evidence based research, especially in this day and age, takes a back seat to cruel and punishment-based ideologies, we not only have bad policy, we have a direct threat to the very values of compassion, humility, and respect for one another that have made this country a great example to the world for so long.

Promoting the Responsible Use of Medical Marijuana at the Third Annual Treating Yourself Expo in Toronto May 2012
Wednesday, April 25th, 2012 – The Treating Yourself Expo (TYE), Canada’s first exhibition promoting the responsible use of medical marijuana, returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from May 25-27, 2012.
“Now in its third year, the Treating Yourself Expo has expanded into an event with several key features and a growing seniors audience,” says Marco Renda, patient, publisher and show producer. “Last year, we saw great interest from Canada’s senior citizens regarding the benefits medical marijuana, as many find that they are unable to function on the synthetic medications that they are prescribed. The same can be said for people who require anti-anxiety drugs. Medical marijuana allows them to relieve their symptoms, while still being able to function in their day-to-day lives.”
Marijuana has been shown to help combat symptoms and side effects from cancer chemotherapy management, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS symptomatic management, migraine, multiple sclerosis, pain, severe arthritis as well as spinal cord injury disease, to name just a few. In 1999, Health Canada approved the use of medical marijuana for certain health conditions. Since then, Health Canada has approved fewer than 5,000 permits and has compelled doctors to act as gatekeepers.
Special features of the 2012 Treating Yourself Expo include the world’s largest Vapour Lounge, cannabis testing as well as a series of workshops and seminars on subjects such as alternative medicine, medical cannabis, activism, security and safety, nutrition, hemp, cooking and more. New to the event is a glassblowing competition with well-known artists Marcel Braun, Dale Sommers, Chris Carlson, Chad G, Kurt B, J O P, Pakoh, Brandon Martin and Ben Burton. Sponsors of the competition include Northstar, EU Glass and Glass Alchemy.
“The Treating Yourself Expo has grown, with more exhibitors and more visitors each year,” says Jim Mahon, show manager. “A special thanks to the Metro Convention Centre for giving us the perfect venue for a professional and easily accessible event.”
